Blog vs Web Page

Blog
  • Short for web blog
  • Frequently updated with new posts
  • Provide commenting options
  • Posts arranged from most recent on top
Web Page
  • Often called web for short and also known as website
  • Static pages with little to no updates
In a nutshell, a blog is personal. People often use it as a journal and the language is less formal. In addition, blog sites cater to the people by making it very user friendly. All of the coding and formatting is already figured out for the user, it's just a matter of inserting one's photos, journal, videos, etc. Whereas with a website, a code is written by it's designated web designer. In addition, there are no posts, but rather updated data which has no limitations, therefore websites usually have some standard characteristics such as:
  • A homepage that connects to internal pages within the site
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Client testimonials and feedbacks
  • Contact Info
However different a blog and web page might be from one another, they also can work together Shopping happens on websites. For example, Etsy.com is a website. It is created by an Etsy web designer. It has all the characteristics previously listed (see above) and it also has pages full of items for sale. Some of those pages might contain a link to one of the shop sellers blogs, which is their personal blog with content of their choice.
